School Discipline & Truancy
If your child is getting into trouble at school, or refusing to attend school, please call us. What the school may be treating as a discipline or truancy problem may be a special education issue and a denial of your child's rights. We can help you to determine if your child is entitled to special education support. We can also represent you at school disciplinary and truancy proceedings.
Behavior Support & Emotional Support
Special education laws require that students of all ages be provided with behavior support and emotional support when needed to succeed at school. Discipline problems often occur when your child is not provided with appropriate behavior support. Truancy may be a result of anxiety that your child has about school, and this may be the result of the school's failure to provide emotional support that your child needs to feel comfortable and safe at school. School refusal, or school avoidance, are sensitive and complicated problems. We can help develop creative ways to make sure your child can access his or her education.
