A highly skilled special education attorney and the mother of two young children, Jennifer Nestle brings a unique and compassionate perspective to her representation of children and their families. Her clients at Batchis & Nestle benefit from her prior experience representing both parents and The School District of Philadelphia.
Jennifer’s special education law work at Batchis & Nestle includes counseling and litigation under The Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504, and other federal and state statutes and regulations protecting the educational rights of children. She represents children and parents in all stages of education litigation, settlement conferences, due process hearings, discipline proceedings, manifestation hearings and IEP meetings.
Jennifer represented The School District of Philadelphia in IEP meetings, pre-hearing conferences, disciplinary hearings, due process hearings, federal proceedings and federal and state investigations. Jennifer also worked closely with school administrators and educators on compliance with Special Education laws and regulations. She presented professional development special education trainings to principals, psychologists, and special education liaisons. All of this experience gives Jennifer the ability to provide parents and students with unique insights into what their school districts are thinking and the most effective ways to get the special education services their children need.
Prior to joining The School District of Philadelphia, Jennifer was General Counsel for Bond Medical Group in 2007. Between 1999 and 2006, Jennifer was a litigation associate with the law firm of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP where she concentrated her practice in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil litigation and appeals. Her pro bono work at the law firm included representing an approved private school and prisoners seeking habeas corpus relief. Before joining Schnader, Jennifer clerked for two years for the Honorable Myron H. Bright of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Jennifer is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York. She earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude, and her B.S. from Cornell University. Jennifer lives in Delaware County with her husband and two young sons.
